H.M.S. Andromeda

H.M.S. Andromeda's ship's radio was modified, the officers wardroom was converted into a temporary studio.

Radio station: Royal Navy Radio. In 1907, the Admiralty authorised Lieutenant Quentin Crauford to set up an experimental radio station to broadcast a programme for the benefit of the Royal Navy fleet in Chatham dockyard. A programme of song and recitation was broadcast starting with "God save the King".
